Bachtrack called its last performance at Cadogan Hall ‘electrifying’ and filled with ‘a thrilling Russian swagger’ – enjoy the Russian Philharmonic of Novosibirsk performing thrilling Russian music from Tchaikovsky, Borodin and Prokofiev before Sibelius’s Symphony No 5. Opening with woodwind calls floating above misty horns, Sibelius evokes his native Finnish landscape leading to the famous swan theme of the Symphony’s moving and hopeful ending.

Joining the Orchestra is Jennifer Pike, bringing her ‘dazzling interpretative flair and exemplary technique’ (Classic FM) to Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No 2.

Part of Zurich International Orchestra Series.
