  1. 12 Variations on 'Ah, vous dirai-je maman' for piano - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  2. Variations sérieuses in D minor, for piano Op 54 - Felix Mendelssohn
  3. Sonatine - Maurice Ravel
  4. Scherzo No 2 in B Flat minor Op 31 - Fryderyk Chopin

A BBC New Generation Artist known for her maturity and sensitivity, Elisabeth Brauss presents four refined works, grown from simple elements. Mozart’s delightful variations on the ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ theme build a substantial work from the simplest melody. Mendelssohn’s Variations, one of the key works of the Romantic period, shows restrained virtuosity, whilst Ravel’s Sonatine, which began life as a single movement written for a competition, is a bright, clear and fluid creation. Chopin’s popular Scherzo No 2 is big and brawny, filled with magical coloration and overflowing with tenderness.

Admission price includes tea, coffee and cake.
