Scaw is a distinctive duo, formed in 2003 to promote the repertoire for bass clarinet and piano in the UK and abroad whilst also attracting composers to write new works for the combination. Sarah and Antony have performed all over the UK and have featured on BBC Radio 3 and other radio stations around the world. They’ve had many new works written for them and have premiered works by composers including Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Dai Fujikura, Piers Hellawell, Iain Matheson, Elizabeth Winters, Dave Bennett Thomas and William Sweeney.

This concert features two exciting innovative works by University of Nottingham lecturers, Dr Elizabeth Kelly and Dr Duncan Macleod, bookended by two movements from Astor Piazzolla’s popular Histoire du Tango.

This event follows an orchestral concert by The Hallé the same evening. Ticket holders for the earlier event get in for free.
