This year the Fairhaven Singers’ ever-popular Christmas concert includes masterpieces by Palestrina and Warlock, a spellbinding arrangement of a seasonal TV theme, and compelling works by living composers Jonathan Dove and Russell Pascoe, along with carols for all to sing. Join us for heavenly sounds in one of Cambridge’s most stunning buildings.

After discussions with Trinity College, we have concluded that it would be unwise for us to serve our audience the traditional glass of wine before this year’s Christmas concert. We’re sorry if this was an aspect of the evening that you were looking forward to, but we promise that the music will make the event every bit as sparkling as you could wish for!

£1 of the face value of each ticket was going to go towards the wine, and we have no wish to profit from this in the absence of wine being provided. Since it’s impractical to offer partial refunds via Eventbrite, we propose instead to donate £1 for every ticket sold towards the work of our friends in Rio de Janeiro, the Museum of Tomorrow Choir, for whom we are in any case taking a collection at the end of the concert. If you would prefer to receive a £1 cash refund on the night, please email treasurer@fairhavensingers.org.uk and we will be very happy to arrange that.

College regulations mean that we have to ask our audience to wear masks while indoors – we hope that this won’t be too much of an imposition for an hour-long concert. Those regulations also mean that there’ll be reduced capacity in the Chapel, to allow for some distancing, so we would advise buying your tickets now, as we think we may sell out quite soon.

We’re all getting used to the fact that concerts in 2021 require extra measures to make them work safely, but nonetheless we’re looking forward to a magical evening, and we hope you’ll be able to come and share it with us.
