Weymouth Lunchtime Chamber Concerts - De Kooning Ensemble

De Kooning Ensemble make their Weymouth debut with a programme of music by Josef Suk, Frank Bridge and Iranian-American composer Darius Paymai.

The De Kooning Ensemble was founded in 2019 while all the members were studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Made up of violinist Jessica Meakin, violist Freya Hicks, cellist Evie Coplan and pianist Lewis Bell, the ensemble strives to make chamber music more prominent in young people’s lives and works with composers to push the boundaries of the chamber music repertoire. They are recent recipients of the Guildhall’s chamber music prize.
