As well as enjoying a long association with the Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra, Barry Wordsworth was, for many years, Music Director of the Royal Ballet Covent Garden and Birmingham Royal Ballet. There is no one more at home with this glittering programme of music inspired by dance, from the steamy Tangos of Piazzolla, through the light-hearted and tuneful ballet music of Pineapple Poll, to the fiery Spanish rhythms of Manuel De Falla. The extremely versatile violinist Thomas Gould marks this year’s Piazzolla centenary for us in that composer’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, and there is even a rather spooky Danse Macabre to acknowledge Halloween. If you love dance, you are certain to love this!
