  1. Overture, from Ruslan and Ludmilla - Mikhail Glinka
  2. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No 1 in G minor Op 26 - Max Bruch
  3. Symphony No 6 in B minor, 'Pathétique' Op 74 - Pyotr Tchaikovsky

Making her debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, young violinist Ellinor D’Melon has been described as ‘one of those rare players who gives the impression that her command – both technical and musical – is total’ (The Irish Times). She joins the Orchestra to perform Bruch’s Violin Concerto No 1, a piece that unleashes the full spectrum of the violin, from beautiful melodies to astounding virtuosity, and never fails to enthral listeners.

Framing the Concerto are two great Russian masterpieces. The energetic, scurrying strings of Glinka’s Overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla perfectly complement Tchaikovsky’s final symphonic manuscript, a towering work that encapsulates the composer’s emotional power.
