Beethoven Unwrapped - Symphonies 1 and 5, transcribed for piano four hands

To mark the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth (reinstating a fixture originally planned for last December) and as we begin to leave the pandemic behind us, we welcome two brilliant South African-born musicians to fill us with hope and joy, performing three of Beethoven’s symphonic masterpieces in the historic transcriptions for piano four hands by Franz Scharwenka. They will perform Symphonies 1 and 5 in a mid-afternoon concert at 3 pm and will tackle Beethoven's great Ninth Symphony (including the Ode to Joy) in an evening performance at 7 pm.

Both concerts will be live-streamed, and live-stream passes are available from the online booking page, by clicking on the right poster. Each concert will run straight through without a break (afternoon concert duration approx 60 mins, evening concert duration approx 70 mins) and light refreshments will be served following each performance.
