To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the City of Southampton Orchestra and the end of covid lockdown, the City of Southampton Orchestra gives the first performance of a piece they commissioned by the recognised composer, John Traill, all about the city of Southampton. The CSO are also delighted to welcome Charlie Lovell-Jones, a 21 year old violinist from Cardiff, who has been described as one of the most promising young violinists in the UK. Charlie Lovell-Jones debuted at a sold-out Royal Festival Hall aged 15. He has since soloed with major orchestras in the UK, Ireland, and Japan, where he received public commendation from the Sendai International Music Competition Jury Chair. He recently competed in the Shanghai Isaac Stern International Competition and performed at the Andermatt Festival.
