The popular Piccadilly Chamber Music Series is delighted to present five candlelit concerts from January to July 2022 at St James’s Piccadilly, exploring the chamber music of Johannes Brahms alongside music of other great romantic composers who influenced this towering genius, or who were influenced by Brahms himself.

The third concert of the series explores four glorious works featuring the Clarinet. These works explore Beethoven and Brahms different treat this melodious instrument, Brahms was inspired to write his Clarinet Trio on hearing the beautiful sound of the clarinet. The rich timbre of this special combination of instruments is further exploited to great effect in Rota’s Clarinet Trio, whilst the clarinet takes flight with the Soprano voice in Schubert’s ravishing Shepherd on the rocks.

The charismatic and esteemed clarinetist, Steve Dummer is joined by stunning international soprano Susan Parkes and the brilliant cellist, Pavlos Carvalho, with concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith.

Set in the heart of London’s West End, The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series provides an exciting new platform for some of the UK’s most outstanding musicians and a new opportunity for Londoners to hear some of the world’s greatest chamber music masterpieces performed in an inspiring setting. Each concert provides a unique opportunity for audiences to hear some of the UK’s greatest musicians in concert with each other in displays of enormous virtuosity and sublime calmness!
