  1. Petite messe solennelle, for chorus, 2 pianos and harmonium - Gioachino Rossini

Born in 1792, Rossini composed 36 operas and earned a forturne by the age of 37. He then wrote almost nothing until the age of 55 when he finally settled in Paris and wrote this piece, amongst others, which has become a core of the choral repertoire.

Although this lively, almost operatic piece was later orchestrated, the Royal Free Singers will perform it in its original version with two pianos and harmonium.

Come along and brighten up a January evening with this uplifting musical delight.
