This series of Spotlight Chamber Concerts begins with a recital from star violinist Leia Zhu and pianist Benjamin Engeli. Leia made her debut as soloist with the LSO and Sir Simon Rattle in August 2021, aged 14 (and a year later than originally planned due to the pandemic). Now Artist in Residence with the London Mozart Players, she is fast becoming an international sensation, known for her musical maturity, expressive interpretations and dazzling technique.

She is joined by the brilliant Swiss pianist Benjamin Engeli, who has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Tonhalle Zurich. They perform works by Beethoven, Szymanowski, Fauré and Sarasate.

Spotlight Chamber Concerts brings some of the world’s finest classical musicians to Cecil Sharp House for its third series. With the audience seated in the dark and in the round, and dramatic lighting centred only on the performers, this series of outstanding concerts and recitals is the ideal place to focus solely on the immersive experience of live music.
