Mary Bevan is one of today’s most exciting singers, hailed as ‘simply spectacular’ and a former winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artist Award. Her debut solo disc ‘Voyages’ explored the music of eminent French composers and the settings they wrote for the poems of Charles Baudelaire. For this recital, joined by masterful pianist Anna Tilbrook, Mary revisits favourite repertoire from ‘Voyages’, including songs by Duparc, Fauré, Debussy, Chabrier and more, but this time pairing each song with another by a female composer writing at the same time, including the Boulanger sisters, Amy Beach and Cécile Chaminade.

Emerging Artists
Our commitment to presenting outstanding emerging artists continues, with each evening recital beginning with a 15 minute showcase for an exceptional duo. Our Spring Weekend Emerging Artists are presented in association with SWAP’ra (Supporting Women and Parents in Oper), and highlight the exceptionally rich repertoire of songs by women composers. Tonight's concert features soprano Emily Christina Loftus and pianist Ana Manastireanu, who perform songs by Hedwige Chrétien.
