Anna Geniushene, one of the Imogen Cooper Music Trust's Russian scholarship holders from 2018, has reached the second round of the prestigious Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas, and will be performing there in June.

Anna completed her Masters with Distinction and Advanced Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music and was one of the RAM's elite Bicentenary Scholars under the tutelage of Professor Christopher Elton. She was a highly praised finalist in the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition.

Anna is married to Lukas Geniušas, the acclaimed Russian-Lithuanian pianist whose father is the famous Lithuanian pianist Petras Geniušas. Lukas's mother is a professor at the Moscow State Conservatory and his grandmother is the Russian pianist Vera Gornostayeva. Anna and Lukas have fled Russia and are currently living in Vilnius with their one year old baby. She has lost her job at the Moscow State Conservatory as well as her performance schedules in Russia and Lithuania. We are delighted to give her an opportunity to play for the Trust at 30 Pavilion Road.
