2022 is an exciting year for Music in Country Churches. In addition to holding concerts in its traditional heartlands of Norfolk and Gloucestershire, the charity is expanding into two new regions, one of which is Wales. HRH The Prince of Wales is the charity’s patron and, for the past two seasons, prizewinning performers from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama have appeared in Music in Country Churches concerts. This year, these Welsh links will be celebrated in Wales for the first time in the splendid setting of Brecon Cathedral.

The performers in this concert are both recipients of prestigious prizes from the Royal Welsh College. In 2021, Isaac Prince (clarinet) won the Concerto Competition, while Elena Zamudio (soprano) won the Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize and the Janet Price Opera Prize. The two will be accompanied by Cardiff-based pianist Catherine Milledge whose career has taken her to festivals and venues around the United Kingdom.

Drinks will be available before the concert and during the interval.
