Revel in the idiosyncratic sounds of vibrant contemporary quartet The Hermes Experiment, as they collaborate on a world premiere with composer and turntablist Shiva Feshareki. Soprano, clarinet, harp and double bass is not a combination that springs to mind when someone says ‘quartet’. But The Hermes Experiment’s distinctive sound is their superpower. They thrive on commissioning adventurous works, as well as performing provocative arrangements. Tonight they take us on a typical Hermes journey, from the calm hypnosis of Oliver Leith’s Uh huh, Yeah to Mira Calix's graphic score DMe, and their and Jethro Cooke’s electronic realisation of London’s sounds in Metropolis, culminating with the premiere of Feshareki’s new work.

‘Hermes are quite an act, boldly entertaining’ say The Scotsman. Winners of the 2021 Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award, this collaboration with one of the most exciting contemporary classical composers right now will be a captivating evening of suspense and beauty.
