  4. Symphony No 29 in A major K 201 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mami Shikimori has performed concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Grieg, and Rachmaninov at our Oxford Proms and we are delighted to welcome her again this year. Mozart's Piano Concerto No 17 in G is one of his most memorable, Mozart said that the melody that begins the Finale was created in song by his pet starling, he simply wrote it down.

Christopher Redgate, our principal oboist will perform Albinoni's most popular concerto, and Edmund Jones, the orchestra leader, will play the Beethoven Romance No 2 in F major. Mozart's Symphony No 29 in A major is one of his early masterworks and features regularly in Classic FM's Hall of Fame.
