David Fanshawe - African Sanctus - and Bob Chilcott - A Little Jazz Mass

David Fanshawe’s African Sanctus is a work entirely unique in the canon. A boisterous and thrilling journey with the accompaniment of drums, piano and electric guitars, alongside taped extracts, it is in-your-face exciting and truly never forgotten. We are joined by international soprano Clare Rutter who has a long association with the piece. This will be coupled with a performance of Bob Chilcott’s very cool Little Jazz Mass, along with a solo work for our drum department and songs from the wonderful Beauregard Singers. With the Cheltenham Bach Choir right back in the groove, this will be a formidably enjoyable evening.
During the concert Jane Fanshawe will give a short introductory talk about the African Sanctus.
