He received a Scholarship to study at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Louise Hopkins, also supported by Help Musicians UK and The Countess of Munster Trust. Whilst a student, he was a Concordia Foundation Artist, a Park Lane Group Artist, recipient of The Suggia Gift by Help Musicians UK and The David Goldman Award from The Worshipful Company of Musicians, as well as receiving their prestigious Silver Medal Award in 2020, nominated by the Guildhall School.

Ben gave the UK Premier of Anders Hillborg’s work ‘Duo’ for Cello and Piano in a BBC ‘Total Immersion’ Concert in Milton Court Concert Hall, which The Guardian commented ‘here…Ben Tarlton and Ben Smith did wonders with it, playing with extraordinary precision and insight.’ He performed as a Finalist in the 2020 Guildhall Gold Medal concerto competition and the 2021 Royal Over-Seas League string category. Recent concert highlights include an Award-winners’ Recital at Wigmore Hall, solo Recitals at St James’s Church Piccadilly and St Martin-in-the-Fields, Brahms’s Double Concerto at St John’s Smith Square and Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time in The Barbican Hall, broadcasted on BBC Radio 3 and reviewed by The Guardian as ‘sensationally played’.

Robin Green enjoys a busy career as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor. He regularly performs in festivals in the UK and Europe. Recent highlights include the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Interlaken Classics Festival, Davos Young Artists Festival, the International Musicians Seminar ‘Open Chamber’ Festival at Prussia Cove, the Pharos Trust, Penarth Chamber Music festival and the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier. Chamber music forms a central part of Robin’s life as a musician. Former recipient of the Leverhulme Chamber music fellowship at the Royal College of Music, Robin was the first prize winner of the Royal Overseas League Chamber music competition, the Concours Nicati in Switzerland and was a prize winner at the International Schubert duo competition. Robin is currently a member of the Odysseus Piano Trio and is a piano professor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
