Elegance, refinement – and lavish exuberance. Charismatic Principal Conductor Maxim Emelyanychev and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra take you on a voyage of discovery into a world of music created especially to excite, delight and inspire.

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra's brilliant Principal Cellist Philip Higham is the soloist in Haydn’s delightful C major Cello Concerto, long believed lost but rediscovered as recently as 1961, and full of the composer’s trademark effortless melody and mischievous fun. Mozart wrote his Symphony No. 38 specifically to wow Prague audiences who he knew adored him – it’s music of deep gratitude, and of joyful high spirits.

Revered by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, Moravian composer Pavel Vranický has been unaccountably overlooked in our own times – but his music is distinctive, inspiring and thoroughly entertaining. Join Emelyanychev and the SCO players to rediscover Vranický’s grand, sweeping Symphony in D.
