Celebrate Father’s Day this year with a brand new adventure.
Fred and the fantastic Tub-Tub is our brand new children's work for narrator and orchestra by James Marangone and Zen Soanes. When Fred’s green-fingered grandfather shows her a map to the mysterious island of Papa Nupi, he leads her on a summer holiday adventure that just might save the planet.
Absolutely no music experience necessary – come along, get involved and be part of this unique Platinum Jubilee celebration in these premiere performances.
1.15pm Workshop (one hour) – children can come and learn The Long Walk Jubilee Song and be a part of the Tub-Tub Junkyard Orchestra (children aged 7-11).
2.30pm Performance (45 mins) – open to all – you don’t have to attend the workshop beforehand
Bring a picnic, sit on the grass and enjoy the performance.
Children attending the workshop will have the opportunity to work with Orpheus Sinfonia, composer James Marangone and author/narrator Zeb Soanes in the junkyard orchestra. They will also learn the specially-written Platinum Jubilee Song, The Long Walk. We will then all come together for a full performance of these pieces for all to enjoy.
If you’re feeling creative see what instrument or outfit you can create from the rubbish your household throws out. There will be a prize for the best junkyard orchestra instrument and outfit.
“Beautifully topical, Fred and the fantastic Tub-Tub is a thrilling and wondrous adventure, where the power of music and nature inspire us all to make the world a better place.” Dame Judi Dench
