  1. Oberon - Carl Maria von Weber
  2. Concerto for flute and orchestra No 1 in G K 313 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  3. Scheherazade Op 35 - Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov

The rising British conductor, Kerem Hasan, has established his credentials in opera (Welsh National Opera/Glyndebourne), and as Chief Conductor of the Tiroler Symphonieorchester-Innsbruck. Here he directs the Hallé, opening the concert with Weber’s popular overture to his fairy opera Oberon, before being joined by the Hallé’s own Principal Flute, Amy Yule, who makes her concerto debut with the orchestra in Mozart’s elegant First Flute Concerto. Described by Rimsky-Korsakov as an ‘Oriental narrative of fairy-tale wonders,’ Scheherazade conjures the spirit of the Arabian 1001 Nights, couched in iridescent instrumental colours, with a solo violin representing the heroine herself.
