  3. Lamento d'Arianna SV 22 - Claudio Monteverdi

For the first of our lute-song recitals, Helen Charlston, a BBC New Generation Artist, and Toby Carr present Battle Cry, a programme taken from their recent, acclaimed disc of the same name on Delphian Records. The programme rebalances the 17th century obsession with female abandonment and lament, incorporating works by Purcell, Monteverdi, Barbara Strozzi and their contemporaries, as well as a specially commissioned work by Owain Park.
