  1. Arabesque in C Op 18 - Robert Schumann
  2. Kreisleriana Op 16 - Robert Schumann

Simone Dinnerstein explores the many faces of Robert Schumann – from his most delicate to his most extrovert.

For Robert Schumann – visionary, dreamer and radical – music knew no limit except the human imagination. His Arabesque summons up distant worlds. And in the wild and wondrous Kreisleriana Schumann puts himself into the mind of an imaginary genius: a composer so sensitive that his whole world is made up of music. Poetic, playful and sometimes outrageous, it’s the musical ride of your life.

Schumann’s music is a particular inspiration for Simone Dinnerstein, a pianist who’s never afraid to bare her emotions. ‘It is Dinnerstein’s unreserved identification with every note she plays that makes her performance so spellbinding’ says the Washington Post – and she has an unrivalled sympathy with Schumann’s teeming imagination.

‘If your music truly comes from your heart, then others will feel it too.’ – Schumann: Advice to Young Musicians
