  3. Trio élégiaque No 2 in D minor Op 9 - Sergey Rachmaninov

For three decades the Parkhouse Award has championed young chamber ensembles of piano and strings, and at Stoller Hall continues the celebration of its 30th anniversary with the second of the three concerts awarded to Trio Bohémo from the Czech Republic, the winners in 2021.

Embracing their vibrant heritage they will perform works by Piazzolla – Jose Bragato's arrangement for piano trio of the evocative Four Seasons of Buenos Aires; Martinu’s Piano Trio No 3 with its rhythmic verve and haunting slow movement. Rachmaninoff’s Trio élégiaque completes the programme.

Since 2020 Trio Bohémo has been part of the European Chamber Music Academy, studying under the guidance of professors such as Hatto Beyerle, Patrick Judt, Johannes Meissl, Avedie Kouyoumdjian and Dirk Mommertz. For the 2022/23 season, the trio has been selected for the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme in addition to recitals at Wigmore Hall, Solti Hall (Budapest) and appearances at festivals such as Classix Festival (Romania) and the Shaldon Festival in 2023 (Devon). Recently they gave their debut recital in the Viennese Musikverein and performed at festivals such as Prague Spring (Czech Republic), Schwarzwald Musikfestival (Germany), Lago Maggiore Musica (Italy) and Gent Festival van Vlaanderen (Belgium).
