Oxford Lieder Festival: Sarah Wegener and Götz Payer – Dedication: Strauss Songs

British-German soprano Sarah Wegener, described by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as possessing a ‘marvellously radiant voice, as powerful as it is rich in colour’, appears regularly in Europe’s leading concert halls and opera houses. She and her longstanding collaborator, Götz Payer, recently recorded a much-admired CD of Strauss songs, music that is at the core of her repertoire. They present a selection of Strauss from this disc, alongside works by Marx, Korngold, Reger, Quilter and Vaughan Williams.
