A concert narrative to celebrate R Vaughan Williams's 150th anniversary. This special programme of words and music tells the story of Ralph Vaughan Williams and his viola muse Lionel Tertis and their spirited battles against prejudice of all types. It presents an impassioned plea for unity and acceptance through the contrasting backgrounds and transcendental artistry of Vaughan Williams (Darwin’s great nephew) and Tertis (son of impoverished immigrants, his father a synagogue cantor).
