  2. Suite for 13 wind instruments in B flat Op 4 - Richard Strauss
  3. Symphony No 41 in C, 'Jupiter' K 551 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

The Academy of St Mary-le-Bow launches its 2022-23 season with Mozart's final symphony, No 41 'Jupiter'. With its explosive opening in the past likened to the sound of Jupiter hurling thunderbolts, thus giving the symphony its nickname, this work is Mozart's longest symphony and is often considered his greatest symphonic achievement. In another nod to ancient mythology, the orchestra pairs Mozart's epic work with the Overture to Beethoven's ballet 'The Creatures of Promethous'. Strauss's Serenade for 13 wind Instruments completes the programme.
