The first part of tonight’s concert is centred around Vaughan Williams' Mass in G minor. It celebrates firstly the 150th anniversary of his birth, and also the 100th anniversary of the first performance of the Mass.

The second part of this concert was prompted by the death earlier this year of Joseph Horovitz at the age of 95. Captain Noah was composed in 1970, originally as a children’s cantata but became very popular with adults too, with its witty and tuneful songs. It’s fun to sing, fun to listen to and should probably come with an earworm warning!
