London Medical Orchestra’s Christmas concert celebrates a diverse array of light music written around the fin de siècle, alongside a suite from Igor Stravinsky’s debut ballet: The Firebird with dramatic, newly commissioned artwork projections from William Lindley.
We are delighted to be joined by the High Holborn Chamber Choir and Tottenham Community Choir for a programme including works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Vivaldi, Augusta Holmès, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and you can expect the return of our popular carols with orchestra and audience participation.
Funds are being raised for Médecins Sans Frontières from ticket and refreshment sales so please join us for a festive mince pie and a glass of something cheery all in aid of a great cause!
The church is 8 minutes' walk from Finsbury Park tube (Piccadilly and Victoria lines) and main line station.
On street parking available.
The London Medical Orchestra was formed in 1954, consisting mainly of refugee doctors and dentists from central Europe. Conductors have included Norman Del Mar, Colin Davis and Bernard Keefe; and Sir Adrian Boult and Jacqueline du Pré are among past Vice Presidents. While Orchestra membership is no longer restricted to the medical profession, the Orchestra continues to support medical charities through fund raising concerts.
