Chasing the Night: Midwinter Songs | Echo Vocal Ensemble

This December, join the acclaimed voices of Echo Vocal Ensemble for a special concert celebrating the winter solstice. 'Chasing the Night' will take audiences on a musical journey across the Northern Hemisphere, following dusk as it falls in each country, and exploring the unique blend of folklore, religion, magic and tradition that midwinter brings.

With a sound described as “sparkling, poised and powerful” (The Arts Desk), Echo will perform an eclectic range of seasonal music including traditional carols and pieces by Poulenc, Britten and Rachmaninov alongside vocal music from Canada and Iceland.

The group will be joined by some very special guests: the Ugandan artists Danny Sewagudde and Denis Muggaga. Known as ‘Ganda Boys’, this duo are internationally known for their fresh interpretations of traditional Ugandan music, bringing their joyful brand of performance to the stage as part of the programme's journey around the world.
