The four musicians of L’Apothéose recreate the musical world of 18th century Spain – graceful, spirited and drenched in sunshine.

The gardens of the Palace of Aranjuez are a wonderland of light and shade, of formal elegance and glittering fountains. Imagine that, and you’ll get some idea of this ravishing music from composers inspired by (or working in) Spain. Expect playfulness, passion, sensuality and sparkling delight: chamber music that glows with southern sun.

For L’Apothéose, it’s second nature. In less than a decade, this dynamic quartet of instrumentalists has become one of the most energising forces in Spanish musical life – performing the music of the 17th and 18th centuries with historically-informed expertise coupled to irresistible zest. 'You sense that the players are really enjoying themselves', wrote one critic. 'So of course we do too'.
