Come and Sing with Portsmouth Choral Union. Open to all singers!

A fun day is in store for singers regular and rusty. Sing choruses from this amazing popular classical favourite work, then enjoy some tea and cakes in the break. Please invite your family and friends to listen for an hour at the end of the afternoon.

Please arrive at 1.45 pm. and be ready to sing at 2pm. The tea and cake break will be at around 4.30 - 5.15pm. Singing for family and friends will take place at 5.15pm and last about one hour.

The Dream of Gerontius, Op 38, is a work for voices and orchestra in two parts composed by Edward Elgar in 1900, to text from the poem by John Henry Newman. It relates the journey of a pious man's soul from his deathbed to his judgment before God and settling into Purgatory.
