  2. Magnificat in G minor RV 610 - Antonio Vivaldi

Two exhilarating works from two extremely different backgrounds, and if that isn’t enough, this concert demonstrates the glorious variety and wealth of music from both the European and Latin American continents, all accompanied by string orchestra and authentic, Latin American instruments.

The beautiful Flower Duet from Lakmé by Delibes. A solo for the sweet, haunting sound of the oboe in The Watermill by Ronald Binge and a debut performance, ‘To the Fair’, by local composer Jerry Moore, with hints of a well known folk song.

Leading us into the Latin American half of the concert is the vibrant, toe tapping Libertango (watch out for the dancers!), an intoxicating percussion trio and a soul stirring performance of El condor pasa.

How could you miss all of this!
