London Medical Orchestra’s Spring concert explores Harmonious Islands, both real and magical, safe and dangerous.... Breathtaking works by Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Bax, Lyadov and Debussy are introduced by our conductor Oliver Till.
We set sail in Scotland with Mendelssohn's ever popular 'Hebrides Overture', and close with Debussy's 'L'isle joyeuse', fantastically orchestrated by the composer's friend Bernardino Molinari.

The London Medical Orchestra was formed in 1954, consisting mainly of refugee doctors and dentists from central Europe. Conductors have included Norman Del Mar, Colin Davis and Bernard Keefe; and Sir Adrian Boult and Jacqueline du Pré are among past Vice Presidents. While Orchestra membership is no longer restricted to the medical profession, the Orchestra continues to support medical charities through fund raising concerts.
