Ellen Baumring-Gledhill was the only cellist to reach the Strings Category Final of BBC Young Musician 2020 and in the same year she won Junior Guildhall’s Lutine Prize, their most prestigious award, at the Milton Court Concert Hall competition final. She is currently a Scholar at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Felix Schmidt and at the end of her first year she was awarded the Katie Thomas Memorial Prize and the Rhoda Butt Award for her achievement and contribution to the Academy. She began learning the cello at the age of 5 with her uncle Dr Oliver Gledhill, continuing to study with him at Junior Guildhall as the D’Addario Strings Cello Scholar. During her time there, she was a prize winner in their Charlton House Young Artists Awards competition 2018, was chosen to represent Junior Guildhall at the London Cello Society’s Cello Power Event 2020 and at the end of her final year she was awarded the Principal’s Prize. Other awards include the 2016 national Emunah Young Musician title as well as Most Promising String Player at Hatfield and Southend Music Festivals. She was a Gold Award winner at the New Talent British International Youth Music Competition in 2018 and 2020 and Senior Solo winner at the Spring Grove Music Festival in 2019. Ellen’s recent solo performances include a recital in Warwick playing Grieg and Schubert ‘Arpeggione’ Sonatas in September 2021, the Elgar Cello Concerto with the North London Sinfonia in March 2022 and with the Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra in October, having been a finalist in their Soloist of the Year Competition. In November 2022, Ellen recorded and performed a piece written for solo cello as part of the Royal Academy of Music’s ‘200 Pieces’ Bicentenary Project. In March 2023 she performed the Elgar concerto again in London as well as playing the Lalo Concerto with the Junior Guildhall Symphony Orchestra at Milton Court.

Hannah Baker, age 19 began playing the piano when she was four years old. She currently studies with Rustem Hayroudinoff at the Royal Academy of Music. Hannah won the Utah Philharmonic Concerto Competition in 2021, the Utah Symphony Youth Guild Competitions in 2020 & 2018, 1st place in the Encore Keyboard Competition & 2nd Place in the Great Performers Competition Best Liszt Performance in 2019, and 1st place in the Best Ravel Performance. In 2015 Hannah won Salute to Youth thereby winning an opportunity to solo with The Utah Symphony. She has also soloed with the Timpanogos Symphony. With her mother and siblings, Hannah has performed in musical group “Jenny Oaks Baker & Family Four" with orchestras and choirs throughout the country including The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra on Temple Square, the Millennial Choirs and Orchestras and the Utah Symphony. A favorite with audiences around the United States, they have performed in Abravanel Hall in SLC, Stevens Performing Arts Center in Idaho, on the Hour of Power TV Show broadcast worldwide from California, for Ambassador's Wives at the Congressional Club in Washington DC, for the Washington DC Temple Festival of Lights, for the World Congress of Families IX and at First Night On Temple Square. Jenny Oaks Baker & Family Four have performed in England, Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Greece, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Israel, Japan, and throughout Taiwan. Family Four are also featured on many popular music videos. Their debut album, “Jenny Oaks Baker & Family Four” hit #4 on the Billboard Classical Crossover and Classical Charts and their most recent album, “Joy to the World” hit #7 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Chart.
