Aoife Ní Bhriain is a highly versatile and gifted violinist, commanding both the classical world and her Irish traditional heritage. The Welsh harpist Catrin Finch has built an impressive classical career while also exploring unchartered musical territory, most notably through her award-winning collaborations with the Senegalese kora virtuoso Seckou Keita and the Colombian group Cimarrón.

Together, Aoife and Catrin make a formidable musical duo, inspired by the cultures of their home countries alongside a multitude of wider influences. Their Music at Oxford performance is one of a select few to coincide with the release of their debut album of extraordinary and original material. Sparks will surely fly!

Please note this concert will be performed in the round, with chairs situated to the front and sides of the performers.

'The duo certainly demonstrated the Celtic affinity of Irish and Welsh. Beautiful music.' Songlines Magazine

With her compelling performance, mixing Bach and Irish trad, the versatile violinist from Raheny in Dublin became an ambassador for everything Ireland…' The Irish Times on Aoife Ní Bhriain

A harpist of some distinction… her playing has striking freedom and an appealing spontaneity, and her technique is dazzling.' Gramophone on Catrin Finch
