Harmonia Sacra meet for their ever-popular annual Advent Reflections performance in the beautiful acoustics of St Thomas the Martyr, Bristol. This year the choir marks the 400th anniversary of the death of the masterly William Byrd in 1623 with the theme 'Last blast from Byrd', featuring many of his superb motets for Advent, balanced with a programme that will also feature music by the nun composer (and one of Byrd's continental contemporaries) Sulpitia Cesis, as well as works by other renaissance and early baroque composers. The choir will also perform works by 20th century composers Kathryn Rose and Carlotta Ferrari.

The concert will be a real treat of glorious English and continental European polyphony for Advent.
