Grampian Concert Orchestra presents a short but varied and upbeat concert of wonderful melodies, designed to ease you into the Autumn season in a good spirits. Two of the pieces have a notably Scottish theme to them; the Glinka Variations, arranged for orchestra by our own musical director, Tim Tricker and Edinburgh composer, Tom Cunningham's Edinburgh Suite, which depicts five different aspects of life in the capital, from Arthur's seat to the Festival. In between we have inserted an evocative Butterfield short piece, taking you briefly back to those warm summer evenings, and then the first of Gounod's joyful two symphonies, a work full of vivacity, warmth and 'joie de vivre'.

Please join us in the beautifuly renovated Mannofield Parish Church in the West of Aberdeen.

Refreshments (soft drinks, included in ticket price) will be offered at the end of the concert.
