Javier Romero was born in Teruel (Spain) and began his musical studies in Avilés with Katalin Illes and Alexander Osokin. Later he entered the Madrid Conservatoire to study his BMus with the cellist Iagoba Fanlo, finishing with honors. During this period he received master classes from Philippe Müller, Miguel Jiménez, Wolfgang Boettcher, and Christopher Coin. In December 2006, he was admitted with scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he finished with top marks.
Former member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, he has collaborated with London Sinfonietta or the Spain National Orchestra, working under the baton of conductors Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Leonard Slatkin or Sir Colin Davis.
He has given recitals and chamber music concerts at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Auditorio Nacional, Barbican Centre in London, or Philharmonie in Berlin. Together with trio Julian Orbón he won the international chamber music competition "Ciudad de Manresa". He has worked and shared the stage with musicians like Giovanni Guzzo, Emiko Miura, Hilary Hahn, Kathryn Stott or Maxim Vengerov. Javier has recorded the cello solos for several movies and TV shows, like the Ridley Scott's movie "Exodus", a soundtrack written by the acclaimed composer Alberto Iglesias.
Horacio López Redondo is a London-based accompanist and chamber musician who performs extensively in the UK and Spain.
Following his degree in piano from the Conservatory in Madrid, Horacio joined the Royal Academy of Music in London to further his higher education, enrolling in the MA Piano Accompaniment program with Malcolm Martineau and James Baillieu. He graduated in 2013 with Distinction.
In 2013, Horacio was Highly Commended in the “Christian Carpentier Prize” to the Best Piano Accompaniment Exam at the Royal Academy of Music. In 2012 he won the Accompanist Competition as part of the Piano Festival “Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias” of Caernarfon, Wales.
Horacio has performed as an accompanist at some of the most prestigious UK venues, including Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, St Martin in the Fields, St. James' Piccadilly and Southwark Cathedral in London; Canterbury Cathedral, Bristol Cathedral or The Venue at Leeds College of Music. He has too accompanied vocal competitions at Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall.
