‘Long, Long, Ago’ - Messe De Minuit

Inspired by the poem of a British prisoner of war written eighty years ago, this Anglo-French-Welsh celebration of Midnight Mass weaves four classic carol-anthems by Herbert Howells into the stylish finesse of Charpentier’s 17th Century Messe de Minuit for voices, strings and flutes, itself a feast of Baroque carols. Mulled alongside, the poignant and comic spoken word of Dylan Thomas' magical A Child's Christmas in Wales and Bo Holton’s beautiful work First Snow.

"Do something," he said. And we threw all our snowballs into the smoke - I think we missed Mr. Prothero - and ran out of the house to the telephone box. "Let's call the police as well," Jim said. "And the ambulance." "And Ernie Jenkins, he likes fires."
