Llyr Williams is more than just a pianist of outstanding virtuosity; as the Guardian put it, he has a magical ability to “transform the simplest of melodies into something exceptional.” Today, at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, he embarks on an extraordinary new journey: six concerts exploring the life and profoundly romantic music of Frederic Chopin - a composer he has made his own.

About the Llyr Williams: The Chopin Series

Dreamer, revolutionary, lover and patriot: Frederic Chopin took the piano and transformed it into the ultimate vehicle for the romantic imagination. For virtuoso pianist and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama artist-in-association Llyr Williams, Chopin has been a lifelong passion; now, following his critically-acclaimed journeys through the music of Beethoven and Schubert, he begins a two-year exploration of the composer they called “the poet of the piano”.
