  1. Serenade for Strings in E minor Op 20 - Sir Edward Elgar
  2. Cello Concertante in C Hob VIIb/1 - (Franz) Joseph Haydn
  3. Nocturne, from Shylock Op 57 - Gabriel Fauré
  4. Serenade for string orchestra Op 48 - Pyotr Tchaikovsky

An effervescent programme for string orchestra, book-ended by two exquisite serenades for strings by Elgar and Tchaikovsky. Demonstrating the many facets of the cello, Toby White is the soloist in Haydn's first cello concerto and the programme is completed by Faure's beautiful and brooding Nocturne from his suite of incidental music for the drama Shylock.

Adrian Butterfield directs the concert. Adrian is a founder-member of the London Handel Players who perform regularly at the Wigmore Hall (and indeed at former King's Lynn Festivals) and tour throughout Europe and North America, where they made their debut at Carnegie Hall in 2014.

Toby White was selected for the Tillett Trust Young Artists Platform and has performed at Wigmore Hall and on BBC Radio 3.
