Games and Mirrors - Clarinet, Viola and Piano Trio

The central piece for this programme is the Mozart 'Kegelstatt' trio, so named after publication supposedly because it was written in a skittle alley. Unlikely as this story is, it has stuck, and is a much loved piece for this unusual combination.

We are delighted to include a request made through the Sollar Music website, Arvo Pärt's hauntingly beautiful and minimalist Spiegel im Spiegel, or Mirror in the Mirror, as well as a selection from Max Bruch's romantic 8 pieces for clarinet, viola and piano, exploring a range of possibilities from the viola and clarinet.

Performances at 4.30pm and 7.30pm. The programme will last about 60 minutes, without an interval.
