Amersham Concert Club: A Celebration of Dennis Brain

Dennis Brain is undoubtedly one of the most famous horn players of all time, and did much to popularise it as a virtuosic instrument. 2021 is the centenary of his birth and these two exciting young musicians, Alexei Watkins and Harry Rylance, have put together a horn and piano recital celebrating his life. The wide-ranging programme includes some of the pieces Brain is renowned for, such as Beethoven’s Horn Sonata, Dukas’ Villanelle and Poulenc’s Élégie, written in his memory, as well as solos for both instruments.

The concert will include a short question and answer session with the musicians.

Both Alexei and Harry graduated with first class honours from the Royal Academy of Music and have played in many famous venues and with many renowned orchestras and ensembles.
