  1. The ways of Zion do mourn HWV264 - George Frideric Handel
  2. Dona nobis pacem - Ralph Vaughan Williams, arranged for soloists, chorus and small ensembe by Jonathan Rathbone

We are thrilled to join with the London Mozart Players and two soloists (Miriam Allan and Alex Ashworth) in performing two famous English masterpieces. Handel’s powerful funeral anthem for his friend Queen Caroline drips with raw emotion, while Vaughan Williams’s passionate anti-war cantata (in Jonathan Rathbone’s superb orchestration, commissioned by Stephen Cleobury) takes us on a vivid journey through anxiety, conflict and mourning to an ecstatic vision of peace and goodwill.
