The Byrds cordially invite you to join us for our 21st annual singing day, directed by our dynamic conductor, Keith Orrell. This year we shall be singing Tallis's 40-part motet Spem in alium.
Whether you've always fancied tackling this work but have never had the opportunity; you know it well and would love to sing it again; or you just want to see what all the fuss is about, we'd love to see you! And what better way - slightly belatedly - to celebrate our 50th anniversary season and Keith's 10th year of directing The Byrds.
Timetable:
10am Register, collect music and mingle with coffee and cake
10.30 First session
12.30 Lunch
1.30 Second session
3.30 Tea and cake break
4pm Final sing through, open to guests
The cost of the day is £20, or £5 for full time students under 25; and music will be provided.
The Nitty-Gritty:
Burton Road, Withington and Barlow Moor Road Metrolink stations are under 15 minutes walk away, and there are bus stops close to the church. There is limited car parking at the church and on the surrounding streets.
There are many eateries in the area; and the church will remain open for those who wish to bring their own lunch. Tea and coffee will be available, as well as the wide range of cakes that the Byrds are known for.
We look forward to singing with you!
