The Ryedale Festival offers great music in beautiful places, with 17 days of inspiring performances in beautiful and historic locations across North Yorkshire.

Philharmonia Baroque’s commitment to both old and new music is reflected in a striking programme built around connections and contrasts. Leading countertenor Tim Mead explores Handel’s genius for characterisation in four vividly contrasted arias, while the orchestra show the stunning expressive range of his concertos. At the centre of the programme, Tarik O’Regan and Errollyn Wallen continue the theme of dualities in a co-composed work exploring the myth of creation.

‘Richard Egarr… helped make the West Coast a period instrument power. And he made the music of Handel and Rameau seem new again…’ New York Times
‘For summertime listening, it doesn’t get any better’ Kansas City Star
