An old friend and former leader of Hounslow Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Leander Papaphilippou, makes a welcome return as soloist for this concert, performing the ever popular and spectacular violin concerto by Tchaikovsky. The programme is completed by the most dramatic of the four overtures to Beethoven's opera Fidelio: Leonora No 3, and Brahms's sunny and uplifting Second Symphony.
