Echor Music (chamber ensemble): The Schumanns and Brahms

Although the ‘love triangle’ between Brahms and The Schumanns is often talked about, Robert Schumann actually knew Brahms for only five months before Robert was taken to a mental asylum, where he stayed until his death.

This programme, curated and performed by some of the world’s most celebrated chamber musicians (based here in the Chilterns), explores the extraordinarily intense friendship between Robert, Clara and Johannes, with music by the three of them depicting that important period in all their lives.
